Bournemouth businesses, Warrior Agency, and Buddy and Noo, are on a mission to slow down fast fashion.

Fast fashion is quickly becoming one of the biggest environmental issues on the planet, with the fashion industry producing up to 10% of the world’s carbon emissions and using more energy than aviation and shipping combined. The UN estimates creating one pair of jeans uses the equivalent of 10 years of drinking water for one person.

So, it’s easy to see why the rise of fast fashion and the speed at which new clothes are produced is causing serious problems.

Swishing is the easy way to update your wardrobe. It’s guilt-free shopping with no cost to your wallet and great for the environment. Swishing works like a giant clothes swap: you bring items you no longer wear and exchange them for something new to you!

Attendees can donate clothes they no longer want and then peruse the rails for a new outfit to take home and show off. Swishing saves unwanted clothes from heading to landfill and reduces how many new items need to be made, reducing the environmental impact of a brand-new wardrobe to almost nothing.

How does it work?

All items are organised by type and size for easy swishing. Peruse the rails, see what takes your fancy, try it on, and take it home – simple!

If there’s any items still looking for a home, we’ll take them to the Wardrobe Foundation, a social enterprise that provides clothing to women in need of clothing support.
